THE CENTRAL COMMITTEE
The Montrose County Republican Central Committee consists of two representatives from each of the 21 precincts, six District Captains, four Committee Chairs, five Officers of the Executive Committee, and all Republican elected County, State and Federal Officials who represent our county.
The official task of the committee is to conduct the County Caucus and County Assembly in every even-numbered election cycle. Other functions include assisting Republican candidates in their campaign efforts, monitoring elections, conducting voter registration drives, fundraising, and assisting local voters and elected officials.
Meetings are every 2nd Thursday of the month at the Montrose School District Board Room at 930 Colorado Avenue. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.
The meetings generally last about two hours and consist of Official’s reports, committee chair presentations, general business and candidate information.

PRECINCT COMMITTEE PERSONS
Each Spring, in even numbered years, Montrose County Republicans gather in a meeting called Caucus. At this meeting, they assemble in neighborhood groups to choose two of their own local, Republican Representatives for their area. These neighborhood Representatives are called PCP’s or Precinct Committee Persons.
PCP’s must be officially registered Republicans and have an important job to work hard voluntarily to represent you! They are encouraged to:
- Stay up to date on what’s happening locally politically.
- Maintain lists of Republican voters in their Precinct
- Walk neighborhoods (find volunteers to help with this project) and pass out voter information during election season.
- Regularly attend our Republican monthly meetings. (These are held on the 2nd Thursday of every month and each PCP has an official vote.)
- Volunteer/help where needed in our Party functions.
