City Council Candidates

Conservative City Council Candidates!

Vote by April 7th!

Did you know that we need a conservative majority on the Montrose City Council for our voice to truly make a difference? Tired of the debt our current city council has incurred? Several extreme liberals are on our ballot, so spread the word to your city family and friends to vote CONSERVATIVE!

If you reside in the Montrose City limits, you should receive a ballot in your mailbox by March 18th! If not, contact the city clerk at 970-240-1430! Turn your ballots into the drop box across from the library at 317 South 2nd Street by April 7th at 7pm.

The Montrose City Council is the governing body for the City of Montrose. Its primary job is to set policy and provide oversight for how the city operates.

Here’s what that typically includes:

1. Setting Local Laws & Policies

Passes ordinances and resolutions

Adopts or amends city codes

Sets local regulations within Colorado law

2. Budget & Financial Oversight

Approves the annual city budget

Sets tax rates and fees

Decides how city funds are allocated (police, fire, roads, parks, etc.)

Monitors city debt and major expenditures

3. Hiring & Oversight

Hires and evaluates the City Manager (Montrose operates under a council-manager form of government)

Provides direction to the City Manager, who oversees daily operations

4. Planning & Development

Approves major development agreements

Makes decisions on land use, zoning, and infrastructure projects

5. Representation

Represents residents’ interests

Responds to citizen concerns

Sets the long-term vision and strategic goals for the city

The council does not run day-to-day operations — that’s the City Manager’s job. Instead, they focus on policy, direction, and financial accountability.

As you can see, it's extremely important to elect Candidates that have conservative values to govern our Montrose City.

Very few people usually vote in these non-partisan elections which leads to Democrats being elected to these boards. We urge our Montrose County Republican voters to take these ballots seriously and help get our local Conservative CANDIDATES ELECTED. This is vital to the future success of Montrose County.

Previous City Council Election Participation

As you can see, Montrose needs to step up and encourage family and friends to vote in these elections. Only those who reside in the city limits get to participate. Please VOTE!
